MILD & GENTLE COMPRESSION
This period is 0-2 weeks post-surgery. During this time, you will be swollen, bloated, and very sensitive from the surgery, therefore, mild and gentle compression is needed. We recommend selecting your garments one size bigger than the clothing size you have been wearing prior to your surgery. The main objective here is for you to feel protected, safe, embraced, and most of all comfortable to help you through the first two weeks, which are the toughest ones to endure. We also recommend wearing the garments 24 hours, so you must sleep in them. The more you wear them during the first six weeks, the better the results will be for your health and your shape in the end. As Bonito Garments are hand made and of very high quality, they cannot be machine washed and machine dried, therefore, you will need two garments. You will be wearing one, while you hand wash (with a gentle detergent, for ex. Woolite or Ecover) and air dry (about 5 hours to dry) the other one. When dry, please place your garment into the pouch you received it in, and place it into the refrigerator for 20-30 min, which allows the fibers of the very high-end material to reconstitute and recompress, so you receive the ultimate compression every time you wear your garment. If properly handled and cared for, a Bonito Garment will last you a very long time.
Stage One Garments are temporary garments, and will not fit you anymore after approximately two weeks, as your body will be continuously changing and becoming slimmer every day for about three months.
ATTENTION: Using a washing machine or electric dryer will compromise the compression of the garment.
For example: If you were wearing size 6-8 or Medium prior to surgery, your Post-Op size for a Stage One Garment would be a Large.
MODERATE COMPRESSION
This period is 2-6 weeks post-surgery. During this time, you need moderate compression, therefore you will go one size smaller than your Stage One size, and only when your surgeon tells you that you are ready to go smaller. Your body’s shape is constantly changing within the first three months post-op, therefore, the sizes of the garments will change. As you wish to end up with the most beautiful shape and silhouette possible, moderate compression is what will help and support you on your journey to ending up with the most positive outcome for your body contour. Here as well, 24 hours of compression is recommended, and you will need two garments. You will be wearing one, while you hand wash (with a gentle detergent, for ex. Woolite or Ecover) and air dry (about 5 hours to dry) the other one, as Bonito Garments are hand made and of very high quality, and cannot be machine washed and machine dried.
Stage Two Garments are temporary garments, and will not fit you anymore after approximately six weeks, as your body will have continued to change, becoming slimmer every day.
ATTENTION: Using a washing machine or electric dryer will compromise the compression of the garment.
For example: If you were wearing size Large for your Post-Op Stage One, your Post-Op size for a Stage Two Garment would be a Medium.
STRONG & TIGHT COMPRESSION
This period is 6-12 weeks post-surgery. By this time, you will have healed much more, and are in need of strong and tight compression. You will go another size smaller than you were wearing in Stage Two, and again, only when your surgeon tells you that you are ready to go smaller. Stage Three is a continuation of Stage Two, working towards the best possible shape for you. There is no longer a need to sleep in the garments, therefore, one garment will suffice. As Bonito Garments are hand made and of very high quality, they cannot be machine washed and machine dried. Please hand wash (with a gentle detergent, for ex. Woolite or Ecover) and air dry (about 5 hours to dry) your garment, and when dry, please place it into the pouch you received it in, and place it into the refrigerator for 20-30 min, which allows the fibers of the very high-end material to reconstitute and recompress, so you receive the ultimate compression every time you wear your garment. If properly handled and cared for, a Bonito Garment will last you a very long time.
A Stage Three Garment may become a permanent garment, unless your body continues to change and slim down a lot during weeks 6-12, it may as well end up being a temporary garment.
ATTENTION: Using a washing machine or electric dryer will compromise the compression of the garment.
For example: If you were wearing size Medium for your Post-Op Stage Two, your Post-Op size for a Stage Three Garment would be a Small.
